Stockmo is a stock broker which provides financial solutions and primarily delas with stock market, their service and products were curated to provide a customer all the tools and insight they need in order to make better trading & financial decision.

Design Challenges

To create a interactive dashboard for stock market website with minimal design and packed features so that the user can make informative decision for their investments

Approach

I researched existing stock market dashboards which are available in the current market and use by thousands of users, ex : zerodha, grow, tickertape. also used other creative inspirations from Pinterest , dribble and behance.

Research & Ideation

Before jumping into the design I wanted to know how the actual dashboard going to be look and what are the key requirements and expectations are from a stock market dashboard, So i did a secondary research followed by primary research where I asked people who are traders and have experience in the trading platforms & what are their expirations from a stock market dashboard design.

Primary Research

Survey:-
From the survey I’ve gathered the following information

• majority of the people are in the age group of 27-35+ & all of them are traders with sufficient knowledge about technology and various platforms like desktop & smartphone.

• out of 20 people 15 were conformable using desktop/PC as their primary trading platform as it provides detailed chart and conformable while switching platform to trade ( mobile to trade /desktop to analyze the chart )

• users were using different brokers but one thing all have in common is that they’re minimal and less cluttered, only showing the require information which the user need in order to executes a trade or make any informative financial decision.

• 15/20 users have to use 3-4 tools in order to get the information which they’re looking for, for example stock screener, advance trading charts, heatmaps, detailed financial statement, analyst score etc.

Final Designs

Main Dashboard

• I kept most of the design simple and showcasing the necessary designs which the user actually seek from their investment.

• Added commodity and Equity holdings option for first thing to know when you use the dashboard followed by investment details and holdings

Stock Screener

The stock screener is pretty straight forward with given options to choose from and add additional filters to it for more accurate results.

User profile section to access and make necessary account settings.
